What the numbers mean
GSM — grams per square metre — is the weight, and it predicts most of how a garment feels: 140–160 is a thin promotional tee, 200 a standard tee, 270 a heavyweight; 400–450 an everyday hoodie, 500 and above a premium fleece. Ring-spun means the yarn was twisted fine and smooth rather than open-end — softer and more durable. Compacted means the fabric was shrunk before cutting, so the finished garment moves little in the wash; cotton still shrinks a little — usually 3 to 5 per cent on the first wash — and our patterns allow for it.
Where it comes from
Cotton grown in Punjab, spun and knitted at mills near Faisalabad, a few hours from the factory. We specify the yarn count, weight and finish and check every roll on arrival. Custom fabric developed from scratch — a weight or construction we do not stock — is possible from 300 metres, roughly 300–500 garments, and adds to the lead time.
