What is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a popular and versatile customization method used for producing high-quality, long-lasting designs on a wide range of apparel, including t-shirts, hoodies, bags and more. The process involves transferring ink through a mesh screen onto the material, creating vibrant and durable designs. Plastisol Screen Printing

Plastisol screen printing process is the traditional style of screen printing and widely-used method in the world of custom apparel. The ink creates a design that sits on top of the fabric creating a bold, vibrant design with excellent texture. The result is a highly durable print that stands the test of time.

With Plastisol screen printing, the possibilities are endless and your designs can stand out in brilliant colors with a wide array of special effects — whether you're looking for classic boldness, glittery shine or a high-end metallic finish. It can be used on a wide range of fabrics, making it perfect for everything from t-shirts to hoodies and beyond.

Discharge Screen Printing

Discharge screen printing features water-based inks that are soft, breathable and able to soak into the fabric of the garment, rather than sitting on top like plastisol inks. Typically this can be done with cotton tees that are black, gray or darker in color. The ink becomes part of the garment itself resulting in a no-feel print surface.

Discharge printing is also great for big prints, so you can have that huge design you want, without all the heavy weight, especially if you prefer lightweight, airy clothing. Custom t-shirts made with discharge printing have a softer look, enhanced comfort and greater durability.

Puff Printing

This technique is very popular and is used to give a specific 3D effect to make designs look unique on t-shirts, hoodies or jackets. However, sometimes it is used as part of the design to add focus to a specific point within a complete design.

For the puff screen printing process, specialized puff printing ink is used on screens. After the transfer of ample ink, a degree of heat is applied to the print causing the puff to expand.

High Density (3D) Printing

As the title says, 3D screen printing involves the use of several layers of ink to create a raised 3D effect on the printed surface of any apparel product. The sharp edge of this method makes it unique from puff printing.

It uses a particular type of printing ink that is thick and high in viscosity, printed layer over layer, dried off between each hit. It works great for adding texture and depth to the print designs. T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, sweatshirts, hats and bags are typical applications over which high-density (3D) screen printing looks good.

Glow In The Dark Printing

The process uses a special ink mixed with phosphorus to enhance the designs. The ink glows in dark. We can apply that to any color. This ink highlights the images, giving a better result on fabrics with darker textures.

The glow-in-the-dark screen-printing technique is used for funky and fantastic images or glow-in-dark typography, creating a unique look over hoodies, jackets, sweatshirts, T-shirts and more.

CMYK Screen Printing

This is the printing style that you will want to use when you have a full-color design or a photograph. It is typically performed on white or light-colored garments and produces a smooth no-feel print surface. Generally it doesn't produce prints with a high amount of color detail. But, every design is unique, so it's best that you show your customer service representative the artwork and they can tell you the best way to print it!

Four Color Process printing, also known as CMYK screen printing, uses only 4 colors to achieve your photorealistic image (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). If the garment is dark in color than a fifth white color screen is added to apply base layer.

Foil Printing

Custom foil screen printing is a great option to really make your prints stand out. Sheets of foil are heat pressed on top of Plastisol screen prints. Pressure and heat work together to seal the foil before any surplus is removed. If properly designed, foil-printed t-shirts can have a striking appearance.

Keep in mind that foil printing does not last as long as normal screen printing and can start to peel after only a few washes if shirts are not taken care of. To extend the life of foil printing please wash these garments inside out with cold water then hang them to dry.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for screen printing?

Our minimum order requirement is 50 pieces, making it ideal for larger projects and bulk orders. This ensures you have the flexibility to bring your creative ideas to life without limitations.

How long will the print last?

Our prints outlast when you take good care of the product by following our guide for longevity. We recommend using Cold Water for washing, turning the garment inside out, line drying, and avoiding any bleach.

How long will it take to complete my order?

We generally require 10-14 business days for bulk manufacturing to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail in every order. Delivery times may vary depending on your location and the product you order.

Can I order a sample before ordering bulk?

We will produce a sample free of charge with any production order. However: free pre-production samples cannot be created until we have received the production order deposit.

If you would like a sample before putting in a production order, we can accommodate that request — but will have to charge for the sample.
