Clothing manufacturer in Pakistan for Australian brands

Australian apparel is almost entirely imported, and the usual sources — China, Bangladesh, Vietnam — either want large minimums or reach small brands only through agents. Pakistan offers something different: a cotton-growing country with its own heavyweight knitting, where a 270 gsm ring-spun tee costs around $10–14 to make and a 500 gsm hoodie around $31 with a print, at 50 pieces, from a factory you deal with directly.

The duty is modest — 5% on most garments under Australia's developing-country rate — and GST is recoverable for a registered business, so the landed price stays close to the factory price. And the lanes are shorter than the map suggests: a carton leaves Lahore on Monday and is in Melbourne by the following Monday.

Australian brands also tend to want two things at once — a heavyweight winter fleece range and a lightweight summer range — and we make both: 500 gsm brushed-back fleece for the cold months, 180–200 gsm tees and French terry shorts for the rest of the year.

Streetwear and surf-adjacent labels: heavyweight boxy tees in the stock colour range, 500 gsm hoodies with puff or embroidered wordmarks, structured caps. Gym and activewear brands, which are a large part of our Australian orders: poly-spandex leggings and shorts with flatlock seams, French terry pump covers, sublimated training tees. Then the institutional buyers — school and club sportswear, corporate uniforms, hospitality workwear, trade workwear — in larger, plainer runs.

All decoration methods are in-house, sublimation included, so a club that wants sublimated match kits and embroidered polos gets one order and one delivery.

Pakistan qualifies for Australia's developing-country tariff treatment, which for most garments means 5% duty — the same rate as the general tariff, so there is no origin paperwork to claim. GST at 10% is charged on the value, duty and freight of any consignment over AUD 1,000, and is recoverable on your BAS if you are registered. Your quote sets both out in dollars per piece.

For an order of a few hundred pieces, sea freight to Melbourne or Sydney is worth considering — three to four weeks port to port from Karachi, about a week longer than air in total once customs is counted, and a real saving per piece on fleece. Fremantle is closer still. For first orders and anything under two cartons, air express is the default.

Australia requires two things on an imported garment: the country of origin — "Made in Pakistan" on a permanent label — under the trade-descriptions rules, and a care label to the AS/NZS 1957 standard, which is mandatory under Australian Consumer Law: fibre content by generic name and percentage, and care instructions in English words or the standard symbols. Both go on the satin side-seam label; your brand goes on the woven neck label.

Children's nightwear has its own flammability labelling category under AS/NZS 1249 and is not something we make. For children's daywear, hoods and drawstrings follow the same design rules as in the UK, which we settle at the tech-pack stage. We hold the wording for every fibre blend we produce; you supply the brand name.

Australian men's sizing follows UK conventions and women's uses the numeric 6–16 scale; our blocks are graded to either and labelled with your chart. Activewear is graded to body measurement with negative ease where the fabric calls for it. Send a garment whose fit sells and we pattern from it; a size-set sample — one of each size — precedes any cut-and-sew run.

Quotes are in US dollars as standard and in Australian dollars on request. Payment is by international transfer or through the multi-currency platforms most Australian brands already use for overseas suppliers. A production deposit is taken before the sample is made and the balance before dispatch; nothing is charged before you have a price and have approved a mockup in writing. A pre-production sample is produced free with any production order once the deposit is received. A sample before committing to production is possible and charged, typically $40–100 for a decorated garment, credited against the bulk order.
