What is DTF printing?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a garment decoration technique where your design is printed onto a special film and then transferred onto fabric using heat and pressure. Unlike traditional methods, DTF works seamlessly on a wide variety of fabrics — cotton, polyester and blends, as well as darker fabrics — all without pre-treatment.

We use the latest DTF technology for businesses, brands and individuals looking for custom apparel in Pakistan. Whether you need a small batch or large-scale production, DTF offers flexibility, speed and detail, which makes it a strong choice for modern custom clothing.

DTF vs. DTG printing

DTF and DTG printing are both modern methods for custom apparel, but they differ in application and capability. DTF prints a design onto a transfer film, which is then heat pressed onto the fabric. DTG prints directly onto fabric using modern printers, which makes it well suited to complex, full-colour designs.

DTG is ideal for cotton and linen but has limitations on other fabric types. It prints full colour, but is less versatile than DTF on fabric choice. DTF is typically better for multi-design production at a lower cost per unit.

DTF vs. screen printing

Screen printing is a traditional method best suited to large volumes, where a stencil applies layers of ink onto the fabric. It offers a wide variety of inks for different fabric types, but full-colour designs are challenging. It is durable and cost-effective in bulk, though it involves significant setup and is less flexible with design changes.

DTF offers quicker setup and suits smaller runs or custom print-on-demand orders. Where screen printing is economical for mass production, DTF excels at intricate detail and bright colour, which makes it a better fit for smaller batches.

DTF vs. sublimation printing

We specialise in both. Sublimation prints a design onto sublimation paper, then uses heat to transfer the dye directly into polyester fabric. It gives vibrant, full-colour results with no texture at all and exceptional durability, because the print is literally dyed into the cloth. The drawback is significant: it only works on light-coloured, polyester-based materials.

Sublimation is ideal for all-over prints on synthetics. DTF gives far greater fabric compatibility, which makes it the better choice for orders spanning several fabric types.
