The first reason is that Saudi Arabia does not yet make much of its own apparel, and the demand — from Vision 2030 projects, hospitality openings, entertainment and sports events, a fast-growing set of homegrown fashion labels — is enormous. Most of it is met from China at long lead times and high minimums. Lahore is three to four days away by air, ten by sea to Jeddah, and takes 50 pieces.

The second is the fabric. Breathable ring-spun cotton and piqué for staff who work in heat, heavyweight fleece for the air-conditioned malls and the winter months in Riyadh, poly-spandex for the gym scene — all knitted in Pakistan from Pakistani cotton and made into garments under one roof.

The third is compliance. Saudi customs requires a product certificate of conformity for textiles through the SABER platform, and a consignment without one is held. We have done it enough times to know exactly what the certification body asks for — fibre test reports, label artwork, the HS code — and we prepare it with the order so the shipment clears on arrival.

Uniforms first: hospitality groups and new hotel openings, retail chains, clinics and hospitals, logistics fleets, facilities and security companies, event and venue staff — poly-cotton tunics and trousers, piqué polos, breathable tees, caps, embroidered by department and delivered by property. Then the fashion and streetwear labels emerging in Riyadh and Jeddah: heavyweight boxy tees, hoodies, drops across the stock colour range, caps. Then sports — club kits, academy training wear, event merchandise for the tournaments and festivals now filling the calendar. Then gym and activewear.

All decoration methods are in-house, so a hotel's full opening order or a brand's first three-piece drop is one sample round and one shipment.

Saudi customs duty on garments has been between 5% and 15% since the 2020 tariff revisions, depending on the tariff line, and VAT is 15% on the duty-inclusive value. Both are stated per piece on your quote against the HS code we will declare, so the landed cost is known before the deposit. The riyal is pegged to the dollar; a quote in either is the same price.

SABER is the part that catches first-time importers. Textiles are a regulated product category in Saudi Arabia, and each product needs a certificate of conformity from an approved body, followed by a shipment certificate for each consignment, both registered on the SABER platform under the importer's account. We prepare the technical file — fibre composition test reports, label artwork, product photographs — and coordinate with the certification body; you or your customs broker register the certificates on SABER. Budgeted and scheduled with the order, it adds a few days and no drama; discovered at Jeddah port, it adds weeks.

Air express is the default for anything under a couple of cartons and reaches Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam in three to four days. Sea to Dammam is a week port to port and worth it from a couple of hundred pieces.

SASO's technical regulation for textiles requires fibre composition, country of origin, size and care instructions on a permanent label in Arabic — English alongside is standard — with the care instructions using the recognised symbols. The same information appears in the conformity file, so the label artwork is settled before the sample is made, not after. Your brand goes on the woven neck label; for uniforms that is usually the client's logo.

We hold the Arabic wording for every fibre blend and care instruction we produce, and the label formats the certification bodies have accepted on previous consignments. You supply the brand name and, where you want it, its Arabic rendering; we supply everything else.

Saudi retail uses a mix of European and US sizing, and uniform orders are specified by measurement. Our blocks are graded to whichever you sell in and labelled with your chart; for uniforms we take a per-employee measurement list and cut to a breakdown with spares. Modest cuts — longer bodies and sleeves, higher necklines, looser fits — and larger size ranges up to 4XL and beyond are standard variants for the Kingdom, not custom work. A size-set sample precedes any cut-and-sew run.

Quotes are in US dollars or riyals; invoices are paid by bank transfer from any Saudi bank, and the peg means no exchange risk either way. A production deposit is taken before the sample is made and the balance before dispatch; nothing is charged before you have a price and have approved a mockup in writing. A pre-production sample is produced free with any production order once the deposit is received. A sample before committing to production is possible and charged, typically $40–100 for a decorated garment, credited against the bulk order.
