Minimum Order Quantities
Our minimum is 50 pieces per design, mixed freely across sizes and colours. Medical scrubs start at 100. Custom dye lots need 300 pieces. Everything else on this page explains why, and where the number can move.

Why a minimum exists at all
A production run has fixed costs that do not shrink with quantity: setting up a cutting table, threading and calibrating machines, digitising artwork, mixing and matching colour, and running the first pieces to check them. Spread across 50 garments those costs are reasonable. Spread across five, they are most of the price.
So the minimum is not a gate to keep small customers out — it is the point below which we would be charging you mostly for setup. Below 50, print-on-demand is genuinely the better answer and we will point you there.
When the minimum can move
We do not generally work below 50 pieces, but exceptions exist and it is worth asking rather than assuming. A smaller run can work where the garment is a stock blank, the decoration is simple, and the price per piece reflects the setup — in other words, if you are willing to pay more per garment, tell us and we will quote it honestly.
It also moves the other way. On repeat orders of an established design, where the pattern, artwork and colour are already approved, we can often be more flexible because the setup has already been paid for once.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I mix sizes within the 50?
- Yes, freely. A 50-piece order can be spread across the whole size range from XS to 3XL at no extra cost.
- Can I mix colours within the 50?
- Yes, across stock colours. A custom dye lot is different — that needs 300 pieces of that colour, because the mill dyes to order.
- Can I mix garment types within the 50?
- No. The 50 is per design and per garment, because each needs its own setup. Fifty t-shirts and fifty hoodies is two runs of fifty, not one of a hundred.
- What if I only need 20 pieces?
- Ask. If it is a stock blank with straightforward decoration we may be able to quote it at a higher per-piece price. If not, print-on-demand will serve you better and we will say so.
- Is the minimum lower on repeat orders?
- Often, yes. Once a design's pattern, artwork and colour are approved, the setup cost has already been absorbed and we can be more flexible.
Ask about your quantity
Tell us the garment and how many you need — including if it is under 50. We will tell you honestly whether we can do it and what it would cost.
