Tech Packs
A tech pack is the document that tells a factory exactly what to make. You do not need one to order from us — but the more of it you can answer, the closer the first sample lands to what you imagined.

You do not need one to start
Most orders we receive do not arrive with a tech pack. They arrive as a photo of a garment someone liked, a logo, and a quantity. That is a perfectly good place to begin, and we build the specification with you from there.
The reason tech packs matter is not paperwork. It is that every unanswered question becomes a decision someone else makes on your behalf — and if you have not specified the fabric weight, someone in a cutting room chooses it.
What a tech pack should answer
| Section | What to state | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | Composition and weight in gsm | The single biggest driver of how the garment feels and costs |
| Measurements | Chest, length, sleeve, shoulder per size | Decides fit. Send a reference garment if you have one. |
| Construction | Seam types, stitching, trims, drawcords, zips | Where cost and durability live |
| Colour | Pantone reference, not a colour name | 'Navy' spans a hundred shades; 19-4024 TCX is one |
| Decoration | Method, position, size, colour count | Decides which method is even possible |
| Labels | Neck, care, size, hangtag | Legal requirements depend on where you sell |
| Size breakdown | How many of each size | Needed before cutting, not before quoting |
| Packing | Polybag, hangtag, carton ratio | Matters if you are going to retail |
The shortcut most people miss
If there is a garment you already own and like, send it to us. We will take it apart, pattern it, and quote against the actual thing — measurements, seam construction, fabric weight and all.
A physical reference beats a written specification almost every time, because it answers questions you did not know to ask. It is the fastest route from an idea to a sample that fits.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a tech pack to get a quote?
- No. Tell us the garment, roughly how many, and what decoration you have in mind, and we can quote. The tech pack detail is settled before sampling.
- Can you make a tech pack for me?
- We build the specification with you as part of quoting and sampling, at no extra cost. A standalone tech pack for use with other factories is a separate job we can quote.
- What if I do not know the fabric weight I want?
- Tell us the feel you are after and what the garment is for, or send a reference garment. We will propose a weight and explain the trade-off — heavier is not automatically better.
- What file formats do you want?
- Artwork as vector (AI, EPS, PDF) or 300dpi PNG. Measurements in a spreadsheet or a photo of a hand-drawn spec — both work.
- Can I send a garment as a reference?
- Yes, and it is the best thing you can do. We will pattern from it and quote against the real construction.
Send what you have
A photo, a reference garment, or a full tech pack — all three work. We will tell you what else we need.
