What is custom embroidery?
Custom embroidery is a classic customization method that uses thread to create detailed, durable designs on fabrics. It provides a premium finish and long-lasting quality, making it ideal for branding, logos and sophisticated artworks. With embroidery, threads are stitched into the fabric, providing a raised effect that is visually striking and tactile. It is perfect for both small and large runs, making it a versatile choice for corporate uniforms, team apparel and promotional items.
Of all the techniques used to personalize garments, custom embroidery is the most durable by far. Modern threads and machines can produce embellishments that withstand years of wear and washing. There is also an added texture that printing can never achieve.
Embroidery is priced on the complexity of the design rather than the number of colours, because cost follows the number of stitches the machine has to make. A dense, detailed design costs more than a simple one even if both use a single thread colour — the opposite of how screen printing prices up.

Six techniques, each suited to different artwork, fabric and effect. Send us your designs and we will advise the best option for the fabric you choose.
Flat embroidery
Flat embroidery, also known as regular embroidery, involves stitching designs directly onto fabric for a smooth, flat finish. It is ideal for detailed logos, text and artwork, offering a clean and professional look. Commonly used on t-shirts, hoodies, caps and jackets, it is known for durability and versatility.
The process starts with digitizing the design, then stitching it with precision using embroidery machines. It works well on materials like cotton, polyester, fleece and denim, and is a popular choice for schools, brands and businesses due to its consistent quality and cost-effectiveness in high-volume production.
Appliqué embroidery
Appliqué embroidery is a decorative technique that combines embroidery with fabric cutouts, allowing for bold, colorful and textured artwork while using fewer stitches than full thread fills. It is ideal for large logos, letters or creative patterns, often seen on varsity jackets, hoodies and uniforms.
The process begins with laser cutting fabric shapes of the design, placing them onto the garment, and stitching around the edges using embroidery machines. Appliqué adds depth and contrast while keeping the embroidery lightweight and cost-effective. Popular in both fashion and promotional apparel, it offers a unique, eye-catching finish that blends fabric art with classic stitching.
Puff (3D) embroidery
If you are looking for a more raised embroidery that could give a 3D-like effect and make your design more prominent, our raised or 3D puff embroidery is the option. It is commonly used on caps, jackets and hoodies to give logos or text a bold, standout appearance.
The process involves digitizing the design specifically for puff, laying foam over the fabric, and stitching over it with dense satin stitches that cut and compress the foam beneath. Once done, excess foam is removed, leaving a clean, elevated design. It is popular in streetwear, sportswear and branding where bold visuals are key.
Chenille embroidery
Chenille embroidery uses looped yarn to create a raised, towel-like texture on fabric, giving designs a three-dimensional, plush appearance. You have likely seen embroidery designs with a fuzzy, soft material — that is chenille. Special care is taken over yarn density when making designs with chenille digitizing.
This method works best for wider and plainer designs with a felt back. The soft feel and the texture set it apart from other embroidery types. Chenille embroidery is commonly used for patches, letters and logos on varsity jackets, sweatshirts and other garments.
Embroidery patches
Embroidered patches come in many different shapes and forms. Some are adhesive, some are stitched, but they all offer a unique, professional touch to any garment or accessory. We specialize in creating high-quality, durable embroidered patches that can be easily sewn or ironed onto a wide range of materials, including jackets, bags, hats and uniforms. Perfect for branding, team logos or personalized designs, our patches are crafted using premium threads for vibrant colors and long-lasting wear.
Whether you need a logo patch or a name patch, our custom embroidery services ensure a clean, crisp finish that enhances the look and feel of your apparel. Elevate your brand or team's identity with bespoke embroidered patches.
Sequin embroidery
In sequin embroidery, the machines have to be fully equipped with a sequin dispenser. The dispenser drops sequins onto the material as the device continues to stitch. Sequin embroidery includes a textured surface, material, plastic discs and a high shine in most cases.
This procedure is worth experiencing as it is simpler to get outstanding outcomes and the highest quality designs. Sequin embroidery digitizing helps your material design exceed other designs in quality and individuality. Perfect for fashion brands, events or personalized gifts, our sequin embroidery services provide an extra layer of elegance to your apparel.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom embroidery?
- Our minimum order requirement is 50 pieces, making it ideal for larger projects and bulk orders. This ensures you have the flexibility to bring your creative ideas to life without limitations.
- Does embroidery cost more than printing?
- Embroidery prices are based on the complexity of the design rather than the number of colours, unlike printing techniques. Cost follows the number of stitches the machine has to make: the more complex the design, the more stitches, and the more expensive the final work.
- How long will it take to complete my custom embroidery order?
- We generally require 10–14 business days for bulk manufacturing, to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail in every order. Delivery times may vary depending on your location and the product you order.
- Can I order an embroidered sample before ordering bulk?
- We will produce a sample free of charge with any production order. However, free pre-production samples cannot be created until we have received the production order deposit. If you would like a sample before placing a production order, we can accommodate that request, but will have to charge for the sample.
- Is embroidery better than screen printing?
- Embroidery is more durable and adds texture, making it ideal for logos and small designs — especially on hats, polos and outerwear. Screen printing is usually the better choice for large, flat graphics and for high volumes. We will recommend whichever suits your artwork.
- What artwork file should I send for embroidery?
- Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) are ideal. We digitise the artwork into a stitch file before production. If you only have a raster image such as a PNG or JPG, send it anyway and we will tell you whether it can be digitised cleanly.
