What is structured cap?

A structured cap has a layer of buckram — a stiff interfacing — fused inside the front two panels so the crown stands up and holds its shape empty. An unstructured cap has no stiffening and sits low and soft. Structured is the base for 3D puff embroidery; unstructured is the dad-cap look.

Why it matters

Structure decides both the look and what can be embroidered. Puff needs a firm panel; a soft cap takes flat embroidery only.

On our floor

Structured snapbacks and truckers, unstructured dad caps, all made and embroidered in Lahore in cotton twill.
