What is carton?
An export carton is the corrugated box — usually 5-ply for strength — that finished garments ship in, packed by size and style, sealed, and marked on the outside with the order or PO number, style, size, quantity and carton number out of the total. The marks let the consignment be checked and sorted without opening a box.
Why it matters
Clear carton marks are the difference between a delivery that goes straight into stock and one that takes an afternoon to sort. They also satisfy customs and freight forwarders.
