Hotel uniforms: what each department needs, and what it costs
A hotel is six or seven uniforms, not one — front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, kitchen, spa, maintenance, valet — each with a different job, laundry cycle and look. We manufacture hotel uniforms in Lahore for properties in Pakistan and the Gulf. Here is how the order is built, department by department, and what it costs.

Why hotel uniforms are a different order
Volume and repetition. A 150-room hotel employs 150–300 people across departments, each needing two or three sets, replaced on a cycle. That is 500–1,500 pieces a year from one property, reordered to the same specification every time. Consistency across reorders matters more than almost anything else.
Laundry. Hotel uniforms are washed on-site or by a contract laundry at 60–75°C with industrial detergent, often daily. Fabrics, threads, labels and decoration all have to be specified for that, which rules out most retail garments.
Departments. Front desk wants a tailored, corporate look. Housekeeping wants durable, comfortable and easy to clean. Food and beverage wants the café uniform at hotel quality. Kitchens want breathability and heat resistance. Spa wants soft, light, quiet. One supplier who can make all of them from one specification saves the purchasing team a year of coordination.
Hotel departments and what we make for each
| Department | Garments | Fabric | Decoration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front desk and concierge | Polo or tailored shirt, waistcoat, blazer | 220 gsm piqué; poly-cotton twill for wovens | Tonal embroidered crest, name badge loops |
| Housekeeping | Tunic, polo, trousers, apron | Poly-cotton 65/35 twill, 200–240 gsm | Embroidered logo, colour-coded by floor |
| Food and beverage | Polo or heavyweight tee, apron, cap | 220 gsm piqué; canvas apron | Embroidery; names on request |
| Kitchen | Chef jacket, tee, apron, skull cap | Poly-cotton 65/35, breathable weave | Small embroidered mark |
| Spa and wellness | Tunic, soft tee, drawstring trousers | Cotton-modal or soft cotton, light | Tonal embroidery |
| Maintenance and valet | Polo, workwear jacket, hi-vis vest | Heavy poly-cotton; reflective tape | Screen print or embroidery, reflective transfer |
Fabrics that survive hotel laundry
Poly-cotton blends, usually 65% polyester 35% cotton, are the standard for housekeeping, kitchen and maintenance because they resist shrinkage, dry fast and hold colour through hundreds of hot washes. Pure cotton is reserved for guest-facing roles where hand-feel matters and the laundry cycle is gentler.
Colours come from our stock range, matched as closely as possible to the property's Pantone, or — for a large property with a house colour — from a custom dye lot of 300 pieces, lab-dip approved, with the recipe held so a reorder two years later matches the original. For hotels that colour-code departments — a common practice — one order can carry several stock colours provided each meets the 30-piece batch.
Thread and labels are laundry-rated. A woven label that fades or an embroidery thread that bleeds at 75°C is a failed order; ours are specified for the cycle and tested on the sample.
What a hotel uniform programme costs
From our current rate sheet, embroidered guest-facing polos land around $17–18 per piece at 50 and under $14 at 300. Housekeeping tunics in poly-cotton twill, cut and sewn to our pattern, quote around $16–22 depending on construction. Aprons $12–15, caps $11, chef jackets $20–28. A complete two-set uniform programme for a 150-room, 200-staff property typically runs $12,000–20,000 in the first year and 40–60% of that annually on replacement.
The economics improve with the reorder. Digitising, patterns and lab dips are paid once; every replacement order after that carries only the garment cost. That is why hotels that consolidate departments with one manufacturer spend less than hotels that buy each department separately.
Hotel uniforms for the Gulf, made in Lahore
The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are building hotels faster than anywhere on earth, and most of their uniform supply chain runs through Pakistan already — many Dubai uniform companies are storefronts for a Lahore or Karachi factory. We are the factory. Ordering from us directly removes a layer of margin and puts you in contact with the people cutting the garments.
We produce hotel uniforms in our own unit in Lahore: cut, sewn, embroidered, labelled and packed by department and size, with cartons marked for the housekeeping store. Shipping to the Gulf by sea or air is quoted with the order; duties are handled on the quote. Minimum 50 pieces per garment style, 30 per colour; first orders 10–14 working days after sample approval; reorders faster.

Common questions
- What is the minimum order for hotel uniforms?
- 50 pieces per garment style, 30 per colour. A hotel order across departments easily exceeds this; a single-department top-up of 50 polos is also fine.
- Can one order cover several departments?
- Yes. Front desk, housekeeping, F&B, kitchen, spa and maintenance in one order, each garment to its own specification, packed and labelled by department.
- Do the uniforms survive industrial laundry?
- They are specified for it — poly-cotton where the cycle is hot and frequent, laundry-rated thread and labels, and colour dyed to Pantone so replacements match. The sample set is for wash-testing on your property before bulk.
- Can you match our brand colours?
- Yes, to a Pantone TCX reference with a lab dip approved before bulk. We hold the recipe for reorders.
- Do you supply hotels in Dubai and Saudi Arabia?
- Yes — the Gulf is our largest export market for uniforms. Shipping by sea or air is quoted with the order, duties handled on the quote.
- How long does a first hotel order take?
- Sample set within about two weeks; bulk 10–14 working days from sample approval; shipping on top. Reorders are faster because the specification is held.
- Can you add staff names or department colour codes?
- Yes. Names by embroidery at a small per-piece cost; department colours as separate stock colourways within the order, 30 per colour minimum; a house colour outside the range is a 300-piece dye lot.
- Do you make chef jackets and housekeeping tunics, not just polos?
- Yes — cut and sewn in-house to our patterns or yours. Polos, tees and caps come from our stock range; tunics, jackets, aprons and trousers are made to order.
