When do I pay for a custom clothing order?

In two parts: a production deposit before the sample is made, and the balance before dispatch. Nothing is charged before you have a price and have approved a digital mockup in writing — the deposit is what releases the sample and draws the fabric, and the balance is what releases the finished order for shipping.

What each payment does

The deposit confirms the order. On receipt we make the pre-production sample — free with any production order — draw fabric, and book the production slot. The lead time starts here, alongside artwork approval. If you want a sample before committing to production at all, that is possible and chargeable, and it is a separate, smaller transaction.

The balance is invoiced when the order is finished and checked, with photographs of the packed garments, and the order ships on receipt. Shipping is quoted separately by weight and destination and is usually on the same invoice.

What you have before you pay anything

A per-piece price against the actual specification, usually within 24 hours of your brief. A digital mockup on the actual garment at the actual print size, approved by you in writing. The quantity, the size breakdown, the colour reference and the label requirements, all settled. The deposit comes after those, not before.

Related questions

Is the deposit refundable?
It funds the sample and the fabric, which is why it comes before them. The terms are on the quote, so they are read before the deposit is paid, not after.
What currency do you invoice in?
US dollars as standard for export orders, and local currency on request for some markets; Pakistani rupees for domestic orders.
How do I pay from abroad?
By international bank transfer, or through the transfer platforms most brands already use for overseas suppliers. The details are on the invoice.
Do you take payment before showing a price?
Never. Price first, mockup second, deposit third.
